Fanart - Krystal's Next Move

I very rarely draw fanart, but I've been in such a Starfox-y mood, that I just couldn't help myself X3

For the record, I didn't like Command all that much. The gameplay was clunky for a number of reasons, to me, and the story seemed like Nintendo was so afraid of messing the game up and making fans mad that they just threw together a separate story to appease everyone (only it didn't work for me XD I like a definitive storyline). So I tend to just glaze over it and just pretend it didn't happen. That being said, I have been thinking about it XD

I never understood why Fox decided to discharge Krystal from Starfox at the beginning. I mean, apart from the whole "I love you and don't want to see you hurt, so we're breaking up" business. I feel like Krystal is a severely underestimated character, who has unfortunately just not had the screen time to prove it.

I mean, think about it. She loses not only her parents, but her entire planet (beat that, Fox XD). Everyone she has ever known and loved is gone (as far as we know), and instead of just calling it quits there like most others would, she pools her energy into finding out the truth behind it, only to be ensnared in a trap laid by Andross, who literally spends the entire game sucking the life out of her to fuel himself. She manages to survive this with Fox's help and then goes on to pilot her own Arwing and help take on an entire insect race.

But no, apparently the line is drawn at the Anglar Empire. That's too much. She's a lot stronger than most realize, and I know that's something she would say to Fox when he "let's her go."

So that's why I drew this XD This is my rendition of Krystal leaving Fox's apartment just after he breaks the news. Heartbroken and uncertain, she figures out what her next move will be as she makes her way home.

Deep down, she knows she'll pull through somehow. She's gone through far worse on her own and survived, even if this could cost her heart, which frustrates her to know will belong to the one who sent her away in some part.
